[i]braxus: Two kits, one bust, and BSG

Week coming to a close and I sure did get some stuff done. Finished two resin pieces, a 2ft silicone head bust, and managed some partial work on 29 back spikes for an ongoing project. Might head down to the Los Angeles area sometime next month to visit some friends as well as get access to a large oven. My ghetto DIY backyard 55 gallon drum oven seems to be a hit or miss at times. :/

Also finally got around watching Battlestar Galatica for the first time in marathon mode after getting a copy from Dan. Squeezed in all four seasons from the re-imaged series. :o Whee hee hee!

[i]kiapurity: Rant about Non-stick products

Frankly, I want to punch the idiot that came up with non-stick products!

I have discovered that in my experience, that if I burn something in a non-stick pan, they will NOT COME OFF whereas I won't have this problem with normal pans.

Tell me, why is there an epidemic of so many non-stick products that it's a pain in the ass to try to find something non-stick and nice!? Copper-clad cookware is the best one in my opinion but I can't seem to find too many of them and I want to get Revere ware products as those are what my parents have and they clearly last for a long time!

The problem with this is that there's only one store online that stocks them and what especially pisses me off is that they don't have very many of the copper clad stuff-- it's all TELFON TELFON TELFON.

I may sound old fashioned, but I know what *works* for me and non-stick products clearly need to get the hell off of the market.

ETA: http://www.shopworldkitchen.com/index.asp?pageID=240 <-- see the problem? If I want to buy more copper-clad, that's all they have. :(

ETA:

Braxus> guy is dead
Kia_Purity> Brax-- I'll throw pans at his grave out of spite

...either way, I've been finding that Revere Ware's stuff isn't so great anymore. Oh well, time to hit up Farberware stuff as my sister has no problem with their products.

  • 14:50 Picture this: a three year old is reading a book aloud while the father plays his DS. I fight the norm. :)
  • 14:54 @amneufeld Only one I gave was to Erin, but she buys books all the time, so she didn't need to spend it today.
  • 14:55 @sarahmcgarr okay. I'm going out to my brother's to play Mario and Smash today, so won't be back until later tonight.
  • 22:09 @wagamamajuliet I did! Thanks a lot~

Finally gave St. John's a try today. Unsure if I put my expectations too high as what I ordered (shroom burger) didn't make me go OMGWTFBBQ. Guess I need to try something else?

[i]itsbuttery: Toku Review o'Doom

THE END OF POWER RANGERS. No reviews for Shinkenger or Double this week because they're both on Christmas break; their next new episodes will air next week. Over the next few weeks, I'll also be trying to catch up on reviews for the 15 episodes of Spider-man toku I missed during those weeks between June and August when I got behind in everything.

As a heads up though, next week's review will be a few days late. I'll be heading off to MAGFest this Thursday for their epic hotel-wide (James Bond-themed, lol) New Years Eve party, and I won't be back for four days. So it'll be the following Monday before I get a chance to download and watch Rescue Fire 40, Shinken 44, and Double 16.

[i]kiapurity: ACTION HOLMES

Movie was *awesome*.

Even more awesome was that Silver treated my parents to the movie with us. :D (My parents really don't get to visit movie theatres all that often nowdays but they were pleased to attend!)

Christmas present loot:
KOTOR via Steam from Silver (earlier this month)
$20 PSN card from Steven
3 Dream Hunters books from the Dark Hunter series from Jen
The Latest Harper Connolly book that hasn't come in mail yet from Greg

(Yeah, the loot is smaller than in the past, but I'm okay with that. I can afford to buy whatever I want since I have a job. x_x)

[i]frostybunny: to my oldschool vgmusic goers.

A while back, a midi was posted that really captured my heart.

All I remember is that the name of the midi was "Magical Waltz" and had some of the most amazing harp runs and enchanting melody. I can't for the life of me remember who wrote it, and I can't find the file on my computer, and this makes me sad.

Does anyone who was frequenting vgmusic waaaay back when remember this midi? Or even better, have a copy of it? I really want to listen to it again.

[i]ekkuse: Less a haul, more a bag

Deluxe digital Dragon Age and Borderlands. Also apparently a "huge" Transformers toy whenever my mom can locate it... nobody's had it or something. I want to say new-age Devestator, but who knows.

Honestly, last month's purchase of a super video card was kind of the big christmas thing. But oh how wonderful that is. Crysis in smooth 30fps on very high = drool.

Anyway, I suppose going to look for a generator tomorrow could be construed as a christmas gift, so that if this ice shit shows up here WE WON'T FREEZE TO DEATH AGAIN. *shudder*

Merry Christmas everyone! Now move, I've got some cookies to eat.

[i]jesshire posting in [i]girlgenius_lab: THE JAGERS ARE COMING!!!!!

So, not only did the Profs. update on Christmas, which is awesome and unexpected, but it looks like the Jagermonsters are back in town and handing in the two weeks notice, minus two weeks. How is Dolokhov going to juggle this?

Holy crap you guys, with all these reviews of Avatar I just realized that Buck Godot has WAY MORE INTERESTING ALIENS than the way-too-human Na'vi.

If Buck Godot becomes a movie, THAT will be the scifi-movie that will "change the movie-going experience."

... I couldn't find a Buck Godot comm so I thought you guys might best appreciate this comment.
